Crushpad Brings DIY Wine to China

Ever wanted to produce your own wine but lacked a vineyard, knowledge or free time? Luckily for lazy oenophiles the city over, Crushpad has arrived in Shanghai.

Crushpad’s unique concept enables wine lovers across the globe to dabble in high-end wine production and create their own individual wine from the grapes of Bordeaux, the Mecca of the wine world.

Anyone with a serious interest in wine is able to participate in the magic of winemaking with Crushpad, a convenient facility with online tools that enables people from all over the world to make wine and spend as much or as little time as they want doing so. This is all without having to leave the comfort of your own home, or buy a vineyard! To put it simply, an individual or group works with the team of wine specialists, online or in person, to choose grapes from any of Crushpad’s nine Bordeaux vineyards and create a winemaking plan with over 30 detailed specifications, like barrel type and fermentation technique. Clients are then invited to join the Crushpad team in the harvesting, de-stemming, crushing, fermenting and pressing of the grapes for their wine. This is optional however, as many clients are unable to make the long flight to France. Thoughtfully, Crushpad sends clients samples of their wine, and the development of your wine can be tracked via Crushnet, a specialized interactive website. Ultimately, all aspects of the winemaking process are controlled by you, meaning the finished product will be to your exact taste, even if you are 6000 miles away. The typical aging process takes between 16-22 months, and your wine will be shipped to you straight from the vineyards of Saint Emillion, France. A Votre Sante!
