Just because you didn't receive a calligraphied invitation to Westminister Abbey doesn't mean you can't take part in the social event of the decade. The Langham, Xintiandi, Shanghai is inviting Shanghai residents to celebrate the royal wedding of Prince William and Ms Catherine Middleton at a gala charity dinner to be held on Friday April 29, 2011. Guests will dine on a four course menu fit for a prince, including a magnificent wedding cake. The hotel's pastry chef has created her own personal variation on the special chocolate biscuit cake that Prince William requested for the reception.

In addition to celebrating the couple in style, guests attending the event also have the chance to win a trip for two to London flying British Airways Club World class with five night’s accommodation at The Langham London. Guests can also bid for items from iconic British brands, including a pair of Wedgwood royal wedding cups and trinket box; a Dunhill made-to-measure men’s suit; a Berry Bros wine tasting course in Hong Kong for six people; a chauffeur driven Jaguar and Range Rover for the day; a Vertu mobile telephone and a Boadicea the Victoria luxurious perfume gift box, just some
of the items that will be available on the night. All funds raised from the auction will go to the International Red Cross.
