Scented Seasons @ Elisabeth de Brabant
Thursday, 31 December 2009
Leng Hong’s solo exhibition showcases his masterful use of oils, in which he develops textural aspects by using multiple layers and marble impasto for depth. Tracing back to the Tang and Song dynasties, Leng Hong’s works are also counter-balanced with a strong influence of European expressionism and cubism. His pieces become a mélange of romantic images, with up to a dozen scenes all masterfully fused on to a single flat tableau. Lee Hong is from Shanghai and emerged as a leading artist in the 1980s New Wave art movement. Until January. Elisabeth de Brabant. 6466 7428
