In his latest exhibition, Chongqing artist Chen Wenbo finds his subjects in nighttime interiors, often smeared with the orange light of incandescent bulbs. His paintings depict subjects such as a dart board, gold bars, and apartment mailboxes in a photo-realistic style. Instead of using expressive brushwork on the canvas, Chen attacks the canvas itself.
