More than just your average wi-fi sporting coffee shop, Mogoo offers a book exchange and information wall that keeps regulars coming back more. The friendly owner is more than happy to hang the creations of his more artsy guests on the walls. Sure beats looking at paint drying.

Kalase Music Shop

Hidden down a lane, this tiny music shop jam-packs CDs from all over the world into its less than 10 metre square space. In addition to their rare finds and the occasional vinyl, they also provide CD production and filming services for budding rock stars.

Parson Music

The glimmering crystal piano might be the initial draw, but shoppers stay for the music classes and expansive spread of instruments and musically-minded accessories, like the miniature Tombo harmonica strung on a necklace. Shanghai Museum of Art and Crafts

Housed in this century-old French Renaissance mansion is an impressive collection of folk art, as well as the artists themselves who are usually hard at work modelling dough or cutting paper throughout the three storey building. The best part? Asking the artist to make your own souvenir to take home.
