Hyatt Regency Hangzhou has named Mr. Raul Avendaño as its new chef de cuisine, effective from December 2015. Raul is a Chilean national boasting over 10-years international culinary experience, which has fueled his passion and provided him with a unique outlook on food. He began his professional journey in 2005, first gaining valuable experience in clubs and restaurants through his home country, before moving to Cancun, Mexico. Here he joined Fiesta Americana Live Aqua in 2007, followed by advancement to Chef de Cuisine for Gran Mayan Palace Hotel in 2009, also in Cancun.
James Xi has been appointed as the new General Manager of Shangri-La Hotel Ningbo. A native of Shanghai, James Xi began his hospitality career at Shanghai Hilton in 1987. In early 1991, Mr Xi immigrated to the United States to complete his MBA majoring in Hospitality Management at University of Houston. This commenced his journey with the hospitality industry overseas, where his experience spanned across the prestigious hotel brands, Hilton Hotel & Conference Centre, Embassy Suites Hotel, Double Tree by Hilton and Adams Mark Hotel. He held numerous leadership positions in these hotels including Executive Assistant Manager and Resident Manager.
