Things To Do In April

The sun is out and it is time to celebrate. Here are a couple of events that you should attend this month, with or without the kids.

Feria De Abril At elefante

Last year’s Feria De Abril was such a blinding success that the elEFANTE team have decided to do it all over again with the best food, wine, music and “fiesta”!

Feel the Mediterranean spirit course through your veins at this all-day event, and make sure you follow the strict dress code of red and black dots.

Entrance is available with pre-sale of RMB 200 RMB (available until 11 April from elEPANTE) or RMB 300 on the door. Tickets include a free portion of tapas or one drink.

Get on your bike for a good cause! Spinback’s Second Annual 12-hour Charity Spinathon is being held at the Shanghai Center on 10 May from 9am to 9pm. Last year, the spinners raised RMB 23,500 for the charity, Shanghai Sunrise, and this year they are set to raise even more for a greater number of charities with promises of more bikes and more beats! Proceeds from the evenet will be distributed between three main beneficiaries; Mifan Mama (Offering basic needs support to orphans in Shanghai and also in rural China through deliveries of food, clothing, and other necessities), Second Chance Animal Aid (Committed to protecting and improving the health and welfare of companion animals through education, health care, advocacy, outreach, adoption and the promotion of foster care as an alternative approach to traditional shelters) and Shanghai Sunrise (Committed to providing financial support to underprivileged students in Shanghai funding to approximately 500 students each year).

Volunteer spinners are able to book their time slots on the bikes and raise money for a great cause. If you want to get in shape first, before putting you spinning prowess on display, attend Spinback’s regular spinning classes this month!
