The pastry chefs of the Pudong Shangri-La are attempting to obtain a coveted Guinness World Record. It will be a battle to join the exclusive fraternity of only 44,000 other committed and driven individuals. They will aim to surpass the record of 207.80 meters for longest Yule log cake. Surpass might be too weak of a word, they will try to smash the current longest, and replace it with a foreboding 888 meters. Join them on 1 December for this hopefully historic and definitely delicious event.

After the event has finished, the cake will be sold for RMB 2 per slice to all the people who came to support the chefs. Not only will your stomach be full, but your karma bank will also receive a deposit. All the proceeds will be donated to help pay for the medical bills of four children undergoing chemotherapy at Shanghai Children’s Hospital of Fudan University.
