Foodie TALK: Madison's Thanksgiving Special

The first month of Austin Hu's Sunday Suppers has concluded and now it's time to go back through the menus and do it all over again in November. With rotating menus covering cuisines around the globe, there's something for everyone each week, not to mention second helpings and discounts on wine and beer. Week One is the American South featuring pulled pork and mac and cheese (see below for this week's full menu), Week Two is Italy's finest with porchetta and polenta, Week Three is an American steakhouse with chateaubriand, potatoes and creamed spinach and Week Four (which in a happy coincidence coincides with Thanksgiving this year) is roast turkey with all the fixings. For RMB 300 you can eat your face off and for an extra 50, free flow Hailaer beer from Mongolia.

But Austin just couldn't help but sweeten the pot for Thanksgiving this year. On the actual day (25 November), RMB 500 gets you five courses of Thanksgiving specialties and a glass of bubbly. The menu isn't final yet, but ruminating in the chef's mind are visions of truffled pumpkin squash soup with parmesan frico and two different courses of turkey - white meat poached in butter with cranberry gastrique and dark meat rolled in turkey skin stuffed with foie gras mousse. Full menu to come.

For those who can't wait until Thanksgiving, sample Austin's Sunday Supper this weekend. Here's what he's serving:
