Shanghai, Take a Look Around

Throughout history, denizens and visitors have bestowed Shanghai with various names, including – most notably – Paris of the East and Queen of the Orient. (There are also several less flattering nicknames for the city, monikers well-earned during the decadent days of 1920s, but we digress.) But those of us who make the daily trudge around town, from home to work and back again, too often forget to turn our heads from the path we’re on and remember that we live in an incredible city. Our photographer Janine Reichel climbed apartment blocks, hopped fences and made some seriously sneaky manoeuvres (as well as a number of law-abiding ones) to get the finest shots of Shanghai once the sun goes down. Ain’t she gorgeous?
