Every second counts

The pocket chronometer has always been a coveted rarity and dates back to around 1880. Now, the old chronometer with a fusée-and-chain transmission is experiencing a renaissance, but rather than an exclusive timekeeping instrument to be kept in the pocket, it is presented as something beautiful to wear on the wrist. The newly released Richard Lange ‘Pour le Mérite’ reduces the watch to this sole purpose, without further complications. Reminiscent of a grand old clock in a central train station, it has been scientifically crafted for mechanical precision as well as longevity. The alloy in the watch contains beryllium, making its hairsprings thermally stable and resistant to magnetic fields.
