The Barn Comes To Shanghai
Exciting news for lovers of eco-friendly, European fashion: Dutch Items Shanghai has announced they will be carrying the popular Dutch fashion label – The Barn – as part of their Fall/Winter 2010 Import Collection. The city’s three boutiques will be the exclusive point of sale for the label in China. Founded in the mid-90s by buyer and designer Marian Gunning and former banker Jaap Boerma, The Barn uses natural fabrics – think wool, cotton and linen – to create affordable designs which are comfortable yet sophisticated, feminine and unique. The company gets its name from the location of its original office – an old barn tucked away in a small rural town in the Netherlands.
This is the first time The Barn will be available in China. A limited quantity of tunics, cardigans and dresses will be available in a range of earthy colors including brown, off-white, black, midnight blue and aubergine. Items will be in stock from late September and are available in sizes S-XXL, EU 36-46. Prices range from RMB 950 – 1,290.
