C&A launched its 'New Concept' store in Jinqiao, Pudong this morning. When we asked what exactly the new concept was, we were told that the yellow lights were chosen to make us even happier while exercising our purchasing power. But are yellow lights and a more consumer friendly layout really a concept?

Anyway, the Dutch brand, founded in 1861, has clothing and accessories for the office and the street from five brands you've probably never heard of: Clockhouse, Yessica, Angelo Litrico, Palomino and Baby Club.

C&A has some great basic items though, and it's nice to know that some of the money you spend there will assist those in need --  C&A  is planning to donate more than 12,000 pieces of clothing to the China Red Cross Fund.
