BIOFarm Autumn Farmer’s Market
If you’re looking for a healthy and fun alternative weekend activity suitable for kids of all ages, BIOFarm is running a special Farmer’s Market out at their organic farm on this Sunday 13 September.
One of the featured farms in Shanghai TALK’s Organic Food feature a couple of months back, BIOFarm has a really nice set up and offers a great opportunity for Shanghai residents to get out of the city for a day, breathe some fresh air and finally kick-start that healthy eating regimen.
As well as locally grown, seasonal organic produce like leek, okra, onion, eggplant, pumpkin, lettuce and sweet potato, they also have organic eggs, nuts, coffee, tea, juice, deli foods and plenty more good things to eat.
But the good stuff on offer doesn’t stop with food; there will also be a flea market, a ceramic handicraft workshop and ‘Clean Up the World’ day activities.
As it’s located in Outerpudongland (note: unofficial suburb name) getting out to BIOFarm can be a bit of a hassle if you don’t have a car at your disposal, but there is a bus available from the Zhangjiang High Tech metro station (line 2) that departs and 9am and returns at 1.15pm for RMB 25 per person (round trip).
Entry to the market itself is RMB 30 for adults and free for kids. To reserve a place on the bus or to find out more information, check out: www.biofarm.cn. Email: info@biofarm.cn. Tel: 400 620 0789
